On June 8, 2023, the opening ceremony and vernissage of the photographic exhibition of the Italian Society of Physician Photographers AMFI and the PhotoArtMedica Salons took place as part of the World Medical View artistic project at the ENPAM Gallery - Ninfeo Museum in Rome. The event was co-organized by AMFI together with the District Medical Chamber in Częstochowa, Poland. Numerous representatives of local and medical authorities, representatives of the photographic world, as well as doctors from Italy and Poland attended the ceremony. The guests’ speeches emphasized the high level and importance of the exhibition. During his opening speech, the president of AMFI, prof. Maurizio Iazeolla, thanked the representatives of the Italian authorities and organizations as well as the President of the District Medical Chamber in Częstochowa, dr. Mariusz Malicki, and the Chairman of PhotoArtMedica Salons, dr. Krzysztof Muskalski, for their support in organizing the exhibition. He also noted the special support for the exhibition from the International Federation of Photographic Art FIAP and its President, Riccardo Busi. Dr. Krzysztof Muskalski addressed the audience in Italian (without prior knowledge of this language). He pointed out the importance of art, including photography, and its impact on the medical profession. He summarized the contribution of doctors and medical students from around the world to the artistic potential of PhotoArtMedica Salons. He particularly highlighted the contribution of Italian doctors, AMFI members, in building this potential. He expressed gratitude to President Riccardo Busi for FIAP's support in developing the artistic passions of the medical community.
The next speech was by the President of the International Federation of Photographic Art FIAP, Riccardo Busi. FIAP is the largest photographic organization in the world, the only one recognized by UNESCO. It includes national photographic associations from 199 countries, bringing together approximately 2 million photographers. In his speech, he referred to the words of Polish professor Andrzej Szczeklik, who pointed to the common roots of art and medicine deriving from magic. And in Mr Busi's opinion, the Roman exhibition AMFI-PhotoArtMedica had this magical element; the founding of FIAP in 1950 by a Belgian doctor, dr. Van de Vijer, and the growth of the FIAP family from 17 to 199 countries had that magical element; as well as the initiative to establish a club of doctor photographers within the FIAP structures had a nmagical element to it.
During the ceremony, dr. Krzysztof Muskalski was awarded the Honorary Medal of the International Federation of Photographic Art FIAP. The opening ceremony was accompanied by a visit to the Ninfeo Museum - House of Emperor Caligulia, and a welcome cocktail. The exhibition opening was held by prof. Maurizio Iazeolla and dr. Krzysztof Muskalski. It consists of nearly 100 photographs by doctors - AMFI members and selected winners of the PhotoArtMedica Salons from 2013-2022. The exhibition was open to visitors until June 25.

Authorities, dear photographer friends, ladies and gentlemen, good evening.
It is a great pleasure for me to be here today with all of you in this splendid venue, celebrating this incredibly significant "Magical" event.
This event symbolizes the convergence of medicine and art, as beautifully expressed by the renowned Polish doctor and scientist, Dr. Andrzej Szczeklik, who stated, "Medicine and art intertwine, stemming from a common source... for both are rooted in the realm of MAGIC.
Perhaps it was this very same MAGIC that sparked inspiration within another remarkable doctor, Dr. Van de Vijer, the physician of the Belgian national football team, on that memorable day of June 17, 1950, in Bern. It was then that he laid the foundation for our extraordinary family, FIAP.
A family that has seemingly flourished like MAGIC, sprouting from the 17 countries that brought it into existence... and now extending its reach to an impressive 199 nations. Throughout this remarkable journey, it has gained immense significance and visibility, establishing itself as the largest photographic organization on a global scale. Notably, it stands as the sole organization recognized by UNESCO, a prestigious affiliation it has proudly upheld since 1960.
And perhaps it is still through the enchantment of MAGIC that, after years of vain attempts, we find ourselves joyfully reunited here today, in the eternal city. Our purpose extends beyond simply witnessing a splendid photographic exhibition by doctor-artist photographers. We are here to lay the foundation of that "Special Club" dedicated to you, within FIAP itself. This project was first revealed with immense pleasure in Durban, South Africa, back in August 2018.
A Club, comprising of doctors and paramedics within FIAP, stands firm today with its solid foundations already in place. One such esteemed organization is the Associazione Medici Fotografi Italiani (Italian Association of Doctor Photographers), founded in 1994 and already affiliated with the Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche (Italian Federation of Photographic Associations) - FIAF. As a result, it is automatically part of the FIAP network. Additionally, the Polish association PhotoArtMedica, with its long-standing affiliation to FIAP, deserves mention along with its president KRZYSZTOF MUSKALSKI, who has been honored with one of the highest distinctions bestowed by FIAP, the Excellence FIAP Platinum level.
Therefore, dear friends, let us embrace the MAGIC that will breathe life into our Club—a one-of-a-kind and extraordinary Club sponsored by FIAP itself. This Club will bring together doctors and paramedics, fostering a collective vision to create a multitude of events and projects exclusively dedicated to them and organized by them.
A club presented and sponsored by FIAP media, serving as a platform where the vast community of doctors and paramedics among the two million FIAP authors can find common ground and unite. This club cultivates a distinctive synergy between the domains of art and medicine. Within this club, their images can circulate not only across the 30 FIAP exhibition centers spread across the five continents but also within numerous hospitals and clinics worldwide. Through these channels, their photographs bring hope, inspiration, and solace to patients, their families, and all visitors.
With these words, dear friends, as I extend my heartfelt wishes for resounding success in this splendid exhibition, allow me to conclude my brief speech echoing the sentiments shared in the most important FIAP gatherings.
"Dear friends, I genuinely hope that each and every one of us will seize and fully embrace the extraordinary opportunity presented to us today. It is a chance for us to come together, connect, foster understanding, show genuine appreciation, and cultivate lasting friendships with one another. Let us unite our efforts, working harmoniously to transform our shared dreams into tangible realities.”
